Hello, i am a young entrapaneur From Detroit ,MI currently part owner in a small fleet and repair shop. We are looking to expand out bussiness and just like the rest of the world we have been hit hard by the economy and their is hardly anything going in this area. We have severaly trucks currently sitting and i was wondering if anyone could steer me in to the right directons or give me a hand to try and get in to the game of cattle hauling ... i. e companies to wor for, trailer leasing, drivers or even if its worth getting in to.. This is a world all it's own. Whatever you do, if you somehow manage to haul some livestock, you need to understand that this ain't freight hauling. Rates are oneway rates that pay enough to bounce back or to wherever you need to load again. Sometimes you can find a load coming back and they will try and get you to haul it cheaper since your already there coming back anyway. And you will be tempted to do it because it will make you a really good round. But if you take that load with a cut rate then it's going to ruin it for everyone else and even yourself. Because the next thing you know the rates will not only be cut on your back haul, they will be cut on the going out load as well. Just please stick to the basics THE RATE IS THE RATE, NO EXCEPTIONS AND A LOAD IS A LOAD THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BACK HAUL IN THIS BUISNESS. If everybody sticks together, maybe it will make a difference. |

the rates already suck, there are 90% of these "tough" guys hauling for $3, what are u talking about! |
