Always run by the book then you can cross them. I'd much rather deal with a scale than a car. Usually you can get a report what's going on at the scale a car on the other hand you never know what the officer is thinking. In the event you cann't cross the scale I always figure the scale house has four sides so there are atleast four ways around each one and obviously the one in front of the scale might not be a good choice so you still have three othe ways. It is not against the law to go around the scale as long as you are on a state highway. Weight limit roads are what you have to be carefjul of. If you haul heavy you have to do what you have to do.
