You need to have a minimum charge or charge by cwt (hundred weight). You will need a rate sheet for the cwt rates. We charge a flat rate on some stuff depending on the number of loads, but will generally base it close to what it comes out to on our rate sheet. If it is just one load and depending on the mileage, I'm not cranking my truck for less than $450. | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |

You should have a minimum rate for 1 to 100 miles. You should know what it cost's you to operate and what your time is worth. Don't gouge your customers, because we all know that a group of good customers that don't try to screw you, and that pay on time are how we should be trying to build our businesses. If fuel prices continue to rise so should your rate. With fuel at $4.07 per. gallon, the rate should be $4.00 per mile.. We should ALL try to stick together and keep the rate where it needs to be. I know it can be tough on guys and gals that have a coupon book on either the truck or trailer or both.but to make it work you should be prepared to turn down cheap loads. I hope this helps. |

Nope, your not being greedy! It's an honest days pay for an honest days work! Whether your loading from a pen, chute,Sale barn or pasture to pasture its costing you time and money. I use an 8 hour minimum charge plus mileage. Usually it's $55.00 a hour and up to $65.00 per hour. |

we have a rate sheet based upon miles and fuel. as fuel goes up the rate goes up. Plus, we charge an extra 15% for all dirt miles. Our base is 350.00, most of the time the rate goes above that. If you contact me I would share this sheet with you. Tom Freeman | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |
