TQA - stands for Transport Quality Assurance. The Certification is issued after testing is passed which enable you to be reconginized bythe Pork Industry. It is a program that helps swine transporters, producers and handlers the understanding and know how to handle and transport pigs, or set protocols for handling pigs. It is a potential influence of animal well-being and pork quality.
More and more kill plants are requiring this type of certification in order to enter their facilities. Point and case such as Cargil in Canada.
It is my understanding that they even have to be certified in transportation of "livestock'. I've callled on this Certification, however it is not manditory at this time in the States. So if you want this Certification you will have to go to Canada to get it. I was told that in 2012 they planned to bring it to the States for some sort of U.S. Certification. We will see, not sure i want it because this usually is associated with a lot of red tape. As you all know it will not help change some low rates, lol!

You don't have to go to canada to get TQA certified! I have been certified in oklahoma and renewed in iowa! It's not mandatory some plants just require it hormel/triumph require it. Thanks and have a good day

You misread what i said. I know you can get Certified in the States for TQA. i was Cerified in Houston, Tx. What I was talking about is that Cargill in Canda requires it. Most Canadian Livestock Transporters are also Certified to haul livestock was my point. To be honest i think either would in my mind ,because its about the well being of the animals in which you are hauling.

don't be fooled by these "instructors"! do not pay them for tqa certification. they get paid by the pork checkoff for each person they certify!

Everyones time is worth something! Waller in ignorance if you want to, the guy just offered you a service for $30.00 @ your convenience and you had to jab at him. My hats off to anyone willing to help out, even if he gets paid for it! The problem with half of these guys out here is that their mothers never used a belt on them when they deserved it as a kid....... I know that is a little old school but somedays the bullshit runneth deep! REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

Hey just to set the record straight, we do not get paid by the pork board to give these tests Kyle Kress. Whereever you got that information they are wrong. Ive been a advisor for 3 years now and never got nothin from the pork board. And to Schmuecker, really $30? REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE
