Hello i own and try to operate a small trucking buisness.we haul cattle all over the county and the last few weeks i have noticed the DOT..has been hot and heavy especially up in iowa my trucks have been stopped and weighed a couple times and got overweight tickets im just wandering how many overweight tickets we can get before were put out of buisness..seems like every shipper wants to load 50. thousand pounds plus cattle u add that to a 33500 truck and trailer and what do ya get.im just wandering is anyone else experiencing any of the same things that im that can give me some advice on how were gonna correct these problems so were not put outta buisness..The iowa DOT told me personally there targeting cow trucks and are gonna be crackin down on the backroads and there gonna stop the overweight hauling up and down the road...all of this on top of rising fuel prices the future dont look too promising to me.... |

I know they have cracked down out there...also really cracked down on health papers. One reason I bought spreads, I'm legal to 85,500 or 86,000 in the western states. Being from Virginia you especially have it hard because of all the rate cutters who come into Moyers. I dont even go down there anymore. | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |
