It's wild I see guys posting ads looking for drivers and then some of them say you must stay out 3 to 4 weeks at a time that's the past why would a guy stay gone 3 or 4 weeks at a time? I have been trucking 22 years and I have never stayed out 3 or 4 weeks and wouldn't. And another thing that I see is everyone is looking for owner operators but nobody will allow them to run there authority well if they have to get there own authority why not buy a trailer also and do your own thing there are 80 to 100 loads a day on the board to be hauled and some for multiple days bc there are not drivers getting into this industry anymore and why would they when they can drive for a freight company have great benefits and home one weekend and make 80k a year. I know some of us guys that are in our 40s still enjoy it and take pride in it but I think there needs to be a shift in the industry let guys run under your authority and make things more appealing to a owner operator. Because I don't see many guys that are getting into trucking doing this job. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

reefer guys for me (W-2) will end the year 2021 making more than $100,000. Do any cattle haulers make similar money? None of my guys stay out 3-4 weeks at a time. None. Still, I do like hauling cows. Just the money thing. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

Yeah Tony I'm not sure what a company guy would make hauling cattle I would imagine it has a lot to do with how they get paid. I know a lot of guys left cattle to go pull reefers bc the money is better and don't have to work near as hard. That is my point in what I was saying you look at the load board and they say go 1000 miles for 4.50 a mile and o yeah we don't want you to sleep well shit reefer is paying the same and you get loads both ways and your per mile is higher and your legal on it all. My biggest issue with the reefer is the waiting time. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE
