I have a 4 tractor general freight company in central NC and I'm looking to expand into livestock transport. I have a few years experience with livestock but 20 years in various transport from reefer to bulldozers and anything in between just about. I have a crew of good drivers that all have years of experience. I myself would like to spend some more time out on the road as my kids have both grown and moved out in the past 2 or 3 years. I always enjoyed livestock since it's a different office view everyday and a mean bull can be easier to deal with than many dockworkers. Anyways, what I'd like to do is see if I can put my personal truck under someones trailer as a lease or rental that can also put me on some loads so I can see if it's something I'd want to invest in as far as a trailer. I know as much as I enjoyed it as a company driver I'd enjoy it as a company owner. My son will be 21 at the end of March and will also be in a tractor of his own and what would sweeten the deal is if we could run our trucks together. Our trucks are all 2012 Freightliner Cascadias. Both my kids grew up in the truck with me. My son is a firefighter and drives for me here in the state of NC and my daughter works for our city fire department and I myself have been a volunteer for quite a few years. I enjoy my nerves and adrenaline peaking at times and cattle can certainly do that. LOL If anyone has a connection that can be sent my way I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
