This is mostly a hypothetical question: have any of you ever known an o/o, a fleet owner, or a buyer who wished they could find a qualified guy to work only on the weekends? Would this have to be a niche somewhere for it to be a reality?

Most people want a full-time job with a weekend off whenever possible. But I wonder, what are the opportunities for those who wish to work only weekends due to other constraints during the week? Is this simply not possible in this industry, or are order buyers everywhere thinking "I wish I had a guy ready to load every Saturday at this barn?"

I have no problem working on Sundays, however I do take Saturday's(Sabbath) off and have no problem working on "holidays".

Interesting. This is what I was getting at with the niche question. It seems as if an established situation like the Souderton run, if it is a daily run, would provide the opportunity for weekend work, whereas just hoping for a load from a sale barn may not pan out consistently. Unless, I assume, one could convince a buyer of his reliability, and that buyer makes sure to get him a couple loads every weekend. But, it sounds like a niche situation, whatever it might be, is the most realistic answer. I appreciate your input.
