I think you make a really good point.

That's funny....how about when the farmer is having trouble loading he will ask if he can borrow your hot shot or if you have an extra...The yellow are hotter till they get wet.  I like the green hot shots.  Good luck.

UR RITE IT IS A DUMB QUESTION BUT I WILL ANSER IT FOR YOU. I ALWAYS BORROW ONE FROM SOMEONE THAT IM LOADING WITH AND "FORGET" TO GIVE IT BACK. IVE NEVER ACTUALLY BOUGHT ONE. BUT IM MY EXPERT OPINION THE GREEN ONE IS AWESOME. I LIKE TO WALK UP BEHIND THE GUYS AT THE SHOOT AND SHOCK EM AND THEN GO...IT WASNT ME...AND THEN THEY GIT MAD BUT O WELL. HOPE THIS ALL HELPS.

You need to come down here to Texas and haul some of these holstein cows you will ruin several hotshots loading them. I agree with the person that says you just need to know when to use them!!!! You don't need to crispy critter them with it should be a device just to get their attention.

I still use the red one. It works just fine for me. When the batteries get low I just go to the dollar store and get more. If used correctly they are a very handy tool. A rattle paddle won't get the bad ones off of you either!!

I've had the best luck with the new yellow hot shot model. ( lith-ion rechargeable). battery life is several months. plenty hot enough to get the job done when you need it. I have 2 green ones also. they havent moved from behind my seat in 2 years now. I have never had been shocked by it getting wet either. It is expensive tho, around 250 including 2 batteries and the charger (12v and 110).
