I've never heard of if, but now I'm probably going to pay because i'm too curious.  It just seems that that would totally be defeating their purpose against us!!!

There is a website called, coopsareopen.com .  Has anyone joined and paid the member fee?  I was just wondering if the information they give you for the member fee is worth it.  Supposedly you can find out the open/closed status of a coop 24/7 from their website.  Also, they suggest alternate routes around the scales.  They also tell you overweight fines vs getting caught going around.

Has anyone had any experience with the site?

I went ahead and paid the money today to join just to see what the "premium content" was all about.  I thought they had the status (open/closed) of the scales, but I guess they don't.  They do give the phone numbers of the scale houses though.  I guess a guy could call the number, and if someone answers, you can assume they are open.  It does have some good information though.

I know of this site but have not paid for the services.  I have only use it to locate a scale when an atlas does not have it marked.

The site has been up for a while. It may not give status of open or closed, but it does give mile marker status of each location. That itself will let you find your go around route. Just watch out for states like Oregon putting cameras on back streets and go around routes. it's a $1000 fine when caught. They just send the ticket to the plate owner....

They do not tell you the open or closed status, however they do give a good description of the scale and how to avoid it.  They also tell you if it has regular hours or if it is rarely open.  The fee wasn't much I had a subscription, may subscribe again if I get into an area I'm not used to.
