Is anyone out there still using slat sides? What are the positives and negatives?

If i was buying a new trailer I believe I would buy a slat side for the fuel mileage  and air flow. The slat side pulls easy but Barret said they would weigh about 500lb more. Barret I think is the only one that will build a trailer to your spec.

Why did trailers change to predominately punch-sided?  The only slat-sided trailers I see are old ones.

I currently own a Wilson and do't have any problems with it, I just like the look of a slat. What is everyones opinion on a new Barrett? I also have a brand new 09" 50x102 Wilson I am thinking of selling. It is brand new, never hauled a load!

Hi, I stopped down and talked to Barrett here in Oklahoma last year and he told me they would weigh about 500 lbs more, is this close to what yours weigh?  The cost was way cheaper then Wilson, he said around $62000.00 was he close? And like you said they will work with you and build it any way you want it. Try that at Wilson or any other trailer. Did you see any fuel mileage increase? That is what I am looking for.
