POSTING TRUCKS

I am of the impression that posting your truck as availiable only allows the brokers to look and see that there are more trucks than loads. Thus, They post loads at lower rates because they know they can get someone to haul it for $.50 to $1.00 a mile cheaper than what a profitable run should be.

My suggestion would be to not post your truck as availiable as the loads will be posted on the board. I used to post my trucks and in the last 6 months I have only recieved 1 call about them. So I no longer do this.

One thing that I would like to see changed is a way to get the old trucks off from the list.  Many of those trucks are a couple weeks old.  Just some way to update it would be nice.

I think most brokers and cattle buyers have a very good idea of how many trucks are sitting just by the amount of calls they get in a day from truckers that actually are sitting! I really cannot believe that this truck board has anything to do with them setting their rates. Just a personal observation! Would like to see people quit trying to blame this board for the weakness of this economy, the cyclical rates of the cattle industry, and the nature of bull hauling. If you do not believe me go out and ask a cattle buyer! I do not post my trucks on the board but it is just because I also do not use the truck board when I post a load.
