lets see a broker takes anywhere from 5% to 10% to answer his phone, put them up on the load board, collect bills, recieve money take his cut dish it back out!!! so lets add this up quick $3.00 loaded mile times average low side 800 mile pull = $2400.00 times average 7% = $168 for that load! that broker throws 5 loads out per day that way = $840 per day times 4 good days a week = $3360 per week. holy shit thats good income for what one man can potietally do himself assuming he's not shaving the rate before nailing you for that 7 %! Thats on top off him and/or her taking care of their regulars!

now dispatcher trying to cover extra loads asks the guy to through them $25 or $50 bucks thanks buddy for looking out, glad i could help and very rarely has to put them on the board!!!!

Does anybody else see this???

So if I get what you are saying is you are willing to go on one way freight at your pulled out of the air figure of $3.00 per mile(this is off of your post above for the sake of fair figuring)then bounce home empty before you are willing to pay the 7% fee to load the truck back towards home.THIS IS SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU ARE THINKING THE OTHER HAND IS MAKING TO MUCH MONEY.I have loaded outside trucks multiple times only to get stabbed in the back by them and lose the whole deal later on.This doesnt even figure the loss on cargo that has sometimes happened on these outside trucks. How much of that does 7% actually buy in the grand scheme of things for these socalled BROKERS

I would gladly pay 7% to someone that would pay me on time and not make excuses for why he couldnt pay to have reliable work that didnt make you feel you were being blackmailed every time you answered the phone.I learned in this business a long time ago that its money per mile that saves you and pays the bills not worrying about how much everyone else is making. My banker told me in the severtys it isnt a way of LIFE-----------ITS A FREAKIN JOB

I'm not a broker but I do dispatch not only my trucks, but other trucks when the need comes along. There is very seldom a charge when it is an out side truck involved. So pat myself on the back! The head ach, phone calls, late trucks, dirtytralers and rude drivers is to much to deal with without a fee. If any one thinks it is really so easy then do it your self for free. The rewards will be great and every trucker will love you. Take that to your banker and divorce lawyer when you are done.
