Ready to upgrade from a 50'x102" tandem, don't really want a lift on the tractor. What are the pros and cons on triples vs. spreads? Are the spreads accepted in more states than the triples? Am really interested in a Wilson with front two axles close and the lift set back a ways for some of the hell holes we get into in central MT. Thoughts?

Id say if you like going farther from Montana a spread is the only way to go..If you are staying In montana, wyoming, south dakota area you might consider the triple configuration you were talking about.. spreads chew up tires if you dont have a dump valve or a lift axle set up on it. If I stayed home more and hauled within a 500 mile radius I would probably have a triple or at least tag axle on my truck to accompany the the spread I currently pull. Hope ths helps your decison.

I have a triple lift and love it. I've heard all the horror stories about some states harassing guys with triples but I've not had a problem yet. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE
