I think you should be paid. Maybe not full rate but you should get something.

Why would he NOT be paid the rate that he agreed to.....It's not the truckers fault that the buyer over booked trucks, so why should the trucker have to pay for the buyers mistake. I mean REALLY someone was that far off on the weight....wouldn't want them buying for me. Bill for the rate you agreed on....hopefully you were smart enough to get a load/rate confirmation sheet.

Was it a buyer or a load broker that booked

you, and personally I have never got a load

confirmation on hauling cattle, I get one when

I pull my flat bed. I dont know who it was but I

got into a situtation similar to that, but I jus had

to backtrack 75 miles, got there and was 2nd

in line, loaded , and then got a text from the broker

that another truck deadheaded futher, they sent

3 trucks and needed 2. So being the nice guy

I am I unloaded and let the other guy have it.

Bad thing the other driver never once said thank

you.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

GOD BLESS JOHN WAYNE

I have never heard anyone in livestock business mention a rate confirmation. Hell most of the loads i haul are all word of mouth and i dont even know where im going till im halfway there. If he dont pay just let us know who he is and he wont get hauled. of course now thats how it should be you should be able to just kick his ass if he dont pay, lol. anybody got any actuaters for a twin turbo,?

Why would you go 900 miles to pick up a load in the first place? Doesn't seem like this was thought out very well.

Kevin, if you've never driven 900 miles to pick up a load, you have very little experience. Since, you have little expierence, please don't comment on "thoughts", or thinking in general.

Floyd, you should get paid full , if the person can't find you a comparable load.

I agree if you have never deadheaded 900 for a load you haven't been in this industry long enough to comment! It isn't uncommon at all to deadhead even further than that at times. I try not to but that is why we are paid one way, in most cases.

I can promise you that I have been in this business, probably longer than you two put together, and since the early 1980's I have NEVER deadheaded 900 miles to pick up a load. I have come home empty many times, but never gone that far to pick up a load. If you think that that is good business, then you have a lot to learn about this business, and making money in general. If you need some pointers i will be glad to help you out.

Lets don't get bent outta shape,.... remember we all agree the truck was ordered and trucker should have been compensated. One other thing you could almost deadhead 900 miles and still be in TEXAS.

We have been in this business since the 80's and if u get paid a percentage u cant make any money if u stay in one place and wait for another load when cattle are involved u have to go where the loads are, thats how we make our living.
