PREPASS/EZPASS:

just looking to inquire a little about these things. I've heard of them in other industries but don't  know much about them and much of anyone using in ours, or if you actually can. Just looking for some info.  Thanks

Pre Pass is for scales and EZ pass is for toll booth's in the northeast. Sun Pass is used in Florida and a few other states have there own type of pass system. EZ Pass was handy when I lived in New York and was on and off the interstate a lot but its useless out west. Never used Pre Pass and Id be damned if they would let us slimy no good runaway cow haulers use a device to run past a scale! LOL

I've been using prepass here is CA and it has worked great. Well worth the $16 a month. I've been getting the green light and driving by, while the guys i'm running with get pulled in and weighed.

So, how does the PrePass work?

Do you have to have a clean record for so many years and maintain?

Certain number of trucks per fleet?

Certain states?

Anything else?

I've never used PrePass, but in a truck I used to have, the previous owners took the little transponder thing out but left the literature that came with it in the truck. I was reading it and it specifically excludes bulk ag commodities (hopper) and Livestock. Granted, this was 5 or 6 years ago, maybe it's changed since then.

Thats only for the Agpass in Florida for the bug stations. The prepass works for every load exept oversize.
