I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THAT COMPANIES ARE WAITING 30 DAYS AND LONGER ON PAY, THATS SO STUPID!!!! 7 TO 14 DAYS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH I HAVE PEOPLE I HAUL FOR THAT THE CHECK BEATS YOU HOME!!!! COME ON FELLOWS EVEN IF YOU HAVE A GREAT BIG CAPITOL TO OPERATE ON DO YOU GET INTEREST RATES FOR FINANCING THESE COMPANIES!!!! I KNOW WHEN MY BANK FINANCES ME OR IM LATE THEY GET LATE FEES AND INTEREST, IM IN THE LIVESTOCK HAULING BIS IM NOT THE BANK??? I WISH EVERBODY ELSE IN THIS INDUSTRY WOULD QUIT LETTING PEOPLE WAIT 30DAYS AND LONGER TO PAY??? WE DONT BREAK DOWN AND CALL A WRECKER GET TOWED TO SHOP GET FIXED AND THEN TELL THEM YOULL MAIL THEM A CHECK OR YOU MIGHT BUT I BET THEY KEEP YOUR TRUCK TILL THEY GET IT!!! DO YOU THINK THE FARMER, RANCHER, SHIPS HIS CATTLE AND WAITS 30 DAYS ON HIS MONEY IF YOU GUYS BELEIVE THAT SHIT IM LIKE MR G STRAIT GOT OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY IN ARIZONIA. JUST LIKE EASTERN SHUT DOORS OVER NITE THE WAY TRHE TIMES ARE AND ECONOMY STOP SETTING YOURSELF UP TO GET F*********????????? OUT OF HARD EARNED MONEY YOU DESERVE!!!! YA that all sounds fine, good ,great ,grand, wonderful. But the fact of the matter is you form a union and they are still going to call all the guys that still finance there money for the 4 -6 weeks, or haul it cheaper. As much money as all these producers and what not are making I see them buying there own trucks more and more. Half these guys around home for instance the grain farmers buy there own truck and hoppers use it 2 weeks out of the year and then go to the local co-ops and haul all there grain for not even enough to break even just to give there hired hand something to do in there off season. The big just keep getting bigger and wean the small guys out. So when all these big ranchers need to fight a livestock haulers union why not buy there own trucks get it done for what they want and just get bigger and bigger lot of them have the money to back themselves . They can always go to these salebarns and haul everything that the union dont want to haul and wait on there money, it is not going to matter to them gives the hired man something to do. As much as everyone wants to get things better it won't to many guys going out there buying a truck and are going to take on the world, then realize shit i have nothing to do, just cut the rate on someone elses stuff get the haul. |

That's true! But I can understand his frustration, I ran loads for an independent, and am still waiting to be paid. I know that Thigpen, Capitol, Crossroads have already paid him, and I'm still out my money. I knew something was up when I went to pay for fuel and there wasn't enough money on the card and had to pull out of my own pocket. He repaid me that part when I told him he could pick up the truck, but 28 days later still waiting for those loads to pay. |

I sympathize with your frustration, but I think maybe you are not always thinking about the logistics of some companies that are offering those loads. If for example you are getting loads off from this web site, there are alot of Mom and Pop organizations that are freight forwarding and have middlemen inbetween them and the customer before you ever get the load. Most of these loads are extra loads that their own truck or trucks cannot cover. Consider this, if I offer an outside company freight we have the same policy, You get paid when I get paid. This is how it works, I bill the load off from the invoice you send or fax me. Most truckers are not very prompt with their paperwork, so you could loose a few days there. Some customers I can fax a bill but others need it mailed. Either way this can eat up 1-4 more days. Then depending when they pay their trucking bills-some only pay once a week or when they feel like it, if you get it to them the wrong day, it could be several more days before it goes out in the mail. Once they have put it in the mail could be 1-4 more days. Then when I get it and get it processed and mailed out again it could me another 1-5 days before it gets to you. So if you look at that, you will be lucky to get your payment in 2 weeks. This is for sure not what you want to hear, but I'm sure it would be a lot easier on your blood pressure if you factor this in when deciding who you are going to take a load from. Packing houses are nearly the only ones that make scheduled payments, most others are not that way. And yes there is a borderline crimnal around every corner in this business, so you just need to be careful. This process has little to do with stupidity and more to do with realistic logistics of the situation. In an ideal world the customer would pay you when they ask you to haul the load or at the very least be waiting on the other end with his checkbook. But guess what, we don't live in a world like that and this one is proble only going to get worse. | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |
