Yea no kidding, if everybody would get on the same page, there wouldn't be any cheap rates, they already have a hard enough time getting trucks but when all the bigger guys are running in there trying to haul 25 cent a mile cheaper just cause there scared they won't get a load this week, won't nobody stand up for thereself | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |

When cattle hauling pays less than half what reefers do, I simply cannot pull a cattle trailer, even though I absolutely love the work. When I can make $1500 per day pulling a reefer, it makes no sense to me to pull a cattle trailer and make $600 - $1000. I cannot get over how the rates are dictated by someone other than the guy paying the fuel bill and the truck payment. So different than the reefer business. And, every single load is overweight. And nearly every day involves a HOS violation of some sort. Don't get me wrong: I am anti ELD and HOS pretty much. But, if I am the one taking the risk of the ticket and fine, it just boggles my mind that I have so little control over the rate. I really don't know how you guys operating those $165,000 tractors and $105,000 trailers make it. Please enlighten me. | REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE |
