I hear their ads on the XM and see their logo once in awhile.  But I havent heard any personal stories about a membership is good for.  What is your experience with this orgaqnization?

i have wonderd the same thing. But here is the deal. We may be bull haulers but we are still commercial trucks being affected by these stupid new laws. The people that set these laws and regulations dont understand what it takes to haul livestock. My point would be that we need to do somthing. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

I've been a mamber of ooida for several years.I've called there offices about insurance, both truck and health, tickets and goverment matters in trucking. As far as I can tell the only thing they do for us is send Land Line Magizine every month and a bill for membership every year.

We were members for a couple years and they helped out on a couple things but then I never renewed our membership because I would call and ask questions and they would switch me to several different people and I would not get the answer in the end or when I left messages I would never get a call back.  NO USE IN WASTING MY MONEY.

Well The only reason I see to pay fees to OOIDA is if we ever get these rates where they need to be and we can buy a new truck you can get a rebait from Peterbilt LOL.

i am going to agree that they have dragged there feet on several issues i had on many topics. i leased to a flat bed outfit for a spell and was req'd to carry occ/acc ins for the duration of my lease at 144.00 per mo ,then went back to draggen a pot and was recently messed up bad while loading, wish i had the coverage cuz you never know when or were, just thankfull for my brother and the place i was at accepting some responsability with the HUGE BILLS. we all need to band together with some form of brotherhood to give ourslves some protection, we are trucken for discounted rates, pressured by buyers/shippers, and dispatch to do it all while the fat cats get that FAT WITHOUT A SCRATCH. stop haulen for cheap if your reputable they will pay the rate and call you back because you got the job done without going to sleep on an exit ramp.

They only want to deal with people that play by the rules ! When you call them you get the old cold shoulder . Yall know as well as I do the words Bull hauler means 1 your nuts 2 your an outlaw people have forgotten that with out us they don't eat . I really don't think they do crap the government is going to do what they want until we as Americans take our country back and get all the crooks out of Washington D.C. My opinion REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

I too agree with the statement that the OODIA and the NAIT do very little for us! One that I've been a member of in the past was the AITA (America's Independent Truckers Association). Parts of this membership are free and it serves "Agriculture, Industry, Transportation and Administration". Some of the things they do are they offer pre- negotiated savings to AITA affiliates and members on products and services that they need to use regularly, such as Load boards, factoring Services, replacement parts, communications and a variety of other products and services to mention a few. They also provide ore free information to the Transportation/Trucking industry than any other website offers.

They do nothing but take your money and have a big fancy office building along I-70. That blows my mind how they have it for all the more members they have........ REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

its not mandatory that everyone have electronic logs by 2012, but if you have a lot of violations then it becomes mandatory if you want to stay trucking, your company will have to remeadail 395.16. but suposedly by 2014 it may be mandatory for all to have them, i also think its bs, probably why i wont be trucking after this year.
