Should someone with a bad rating really be allowed to set it to private?  What's the point of the rating system if you can't see that they've already been bad to other companies?  I just don't want to see other guys out busting it to make a living and get burned by the same people.  There's no way I'm going to haul for someone who has a consistent 1 rating, no matter how hungry I am.  No reason to burn $400.00 in fuel and not get paid.

Some companies have their rating set to private because a certain broker (jealous of you) will have people he does business with, rate you a 1 that you have never done business with.  He tries to make you look bad because he knows you are very good at what you do, not bragging, just stating facts.  This broker has a bad practice of playing games at your expences.

As we all know this business is based on the honor system. I agree that people will put up bad ratings just because they don't like you or know someone who doesn't like you. In which case the person posting the rating must not be the most honest one out there and should in turn be given a bad rating......Right?  Well now look what that leads to; a rating system that is based strictly on a personal level not business. One big rule of thumb is, keep personal and business seperate. If we were all back in High School I could see this being hard but, lets face the facts here people we are grow adults maybe we should act like them. I have received a couple ratings at a 1 myself, by people who have NEVER worked for me. I did not turn around and rate them because it doesn't gain me anything. As long as you what you say your going and treat the people you hire the way you told them you would, the rating system will not affect your business no matter what end you are on. As far as those who put up a rating not based on an actual opinion, GROW UP.
