Fuel costs seem to be the largest factor when operating a truck. What are some of the best strategies truckers can take to save on fuel costs? Do certain truckstops offer rebates? Cashback for using a particular credit card on fuel?

What are some others that can help save $$$ on fuel costs?

The least expensive fuel is not always the best deal..The Cetane ( same as octane except for diesel and lower cetane is better) will change from dealer to dealer... Also best to buy when the coolest temperature, as you will get more fuel..

Where I run basically within a 150-200 mile radius of my home and home every night I purchase my fuel with credit cards with cashback rewards. Discover Card and Mastercard are my choice. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

I've heard you can get a discount by paying with cash instead of credit. Is this true and how much of a discount?

You have to be careful when using a credit or debit card. Some places charge more when using them, as much as 8 cents a gal. I just use checks, have had very little trouble with places taking them, even when a long way from home. REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE

The station I buy fuel from offers a five cent discount for cash. They are an old school station and offer there good customers a 10 cent discount, cash or charge on thier own credit account. Brandon REPLY REPLY WITH QUOTE
